AkzoNobel officially opened its new research, development and innovation center in Strongsville, OH with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, December 1, 2015.
AkzoNobel, the Amsterdam-based specialty coatings and chemicals company invested about $10 million in a new Strongsville Technology Center, said Greg Bengtson, regional business director for North America Metal Coatings. The building at 8220 Mohawk Drive in Strongsville used to serve as a warehouse for another company, but AkzoNobel revamped it to allow for more collaboration. Construction started last February. Office employees began moving in September, with their laboratory colleagues moving in November.
